On The Road Again...

Having taken a break from blogging, I decided today was the day to recap where I was this week which was snowy Atlanta, Georgia for our annual sales kickoff meeting. Celebrate the success of 2007 and start at zero for 2008 :) The week was spent doing this in the downtown Atlanta Marriott Marquis hotel (under remodeling construction, hence a corporate discount I'm sure...). I did my fair share of smiling, listening and nodding for the week. To top off the week, the return flight from Atlanta to Denver provided usual thrills and a lengthy opportunity to hang out in the minuscule United Red Carpet Room in Atlanta. The 4.5 hour delay from initial departure allowed me to catch up (even more) with some of our sales management and my fellow sales staff on our way to Denver. Weather in Dulles caused our grief, along with several issues from United.

Bottom line, United sent a nice little "thank you for your patience and we appreciate you as a customer and recognize we inconvenienced you - AGAIN" email. They offered a whopping 5,000 miles into my account for their generosity of my delay. As usual, I emailed yourvoice@united.com to let them know I do not care about 5,000 miles as a frequent traveler! I want upgrade certificates so I can get out of coach and the screaming kid /large person leaning on me in the middle scenario, on more flights when I'm delayed in the future!!!

Stay tuned and happy new year :)

You go girl!!
Did I ever tell you about my experience in the Atlanta Red Carpet room after 9/11? I still get goose bumps thinking about it.
Have a great week!

I was the lucky one getting out of Atlanta with no delay at all! I can echo the not-too-exciting blog entry: this was the most laid back Sales event I've ever been to. No drunken brawls, no table-top dancing, nothing! Maybe next year... :)
